I'm almost sure that all you devoted readers of the Mass Movement TV blog (Yes! I'm talking to you!) dig dope ass-funky fresh-sucka free art work. My homegirl (aka Sistargirl, aka Bong) is laying it down for pinay artists and she's currently in the process of working on a Mass Movement Vinyl piece for us! A picture of that will definitely be posted once it's finished.

my little cousins keiji and noah were in town from new york last week. they live in the heart of soho and in-terms of teenage street fashion, their game is on-point. so as a has-been pretty boy myself, whose first "skill" in life was ironing his own clothes, bonding time with my lil cuzzos means shopping. bobby hundreds (below), co-creator of "the hundreds" was nice enough to meet us at his store on rosewood & fairfax.
as their shirts say the hundreds is HUGE! i'm talkin celebrity, london, tokyo status! so it was the boys consumer wet dream come true when bobby laced them (and me!) with shirts, hats, socks and stickers. and just to make sure that they were the freshest kids on the first day of school, he gave them a shout and posted our picture on the hundreds blog:

yesterday, cindy and i went down to long beach to check out the soon-to-be beatrock store! dave (above) and vennie (below) have been lacing the community for years with some of the illest t-shirts around, so it's a beautiful thing that they'll be opening their first store in october.

this saturday night (5/17) will be the closing program of the michael cho memorial exhibition. michael cho was shot and killed by la habra police officers on december 31st, 2007 in la habra, california. for me, this cop killing hit a lot closer to home as cho was a young asian american artist who recently graduated from ucla. police brutality is often portrayed as only a brown and black issue, but cho's death is a chilling reminder that police violence is also an issue that the api community must address.
